OCEAN GOVERNANCE NEED-BASED CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT: OCEAN GOVERNANCE TRAINING SEMINAR FOR PUBLIC SECTOR OFFICIALS

The University of Ghana School of Law (UGSoL) in collaboration with The University of Ghana
Department of Marine and Fisheries Sciences (MAFS) is organising a two-day Ocean
Governance Need-Based Capacity Development. This is a Training Seminar for Public Sector
Officials funded by The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).
The training is aimed at supporting the development of Ghana as an ocean-based economy,
through building the capacity of public sector officials to enable them develop ocean integrated
policies; enhance inter-agency coordination in respect of ocean policies; and to address
problems facing Ghana in ocean governance and the implementation of the law of United
Nations Convention for the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and related instruments.
The training programme will comprise an intensive two-day seminar of in-person training,
leading to a certificate of participation for all active attendees.
